(UPI) – Bette Midler will star in “Lenya,” a Tri-Star production based on the turbulent life of singer Lotte Lenya from author Donald Spoto‘s biography to be published later this year.
Midler has been set by Tri-Star to develop the material and play the starring role in the dramatic musical film dealing with Lenya’s relationship with composer Kurt Weill.
