A Fabulous Piece on Mister V!

Mister D: This article too good…will put on both sites….

By Chris Jones
Chaicago Tribune arts reporter
December 14 2003

CINCINNATI — “I wonder what the good people of Procter & Gamble would think of all this,” screeched the rotund, 56-year-old Bruce Vilanch, best known for sticking funny words in the mouths of celebrities, but currently touring the nation as a housewife in pantyhose, a girdle and a dress.

That shrewd if absurd reference to a prominent local corporation made a hitherto moribund Ohio audience at the first national tour of “Hairspray” shriek with pleasure. And with a grin on his ample chops and his feminized face aimed straight out front, Vilanch went straight for his self-penned, Tuesday-night kill. Read More

About Tour Reviews and Pictures…

In an effort to give some people an element of surprise about the tour, I will only post pics and reviews in the the reviews section and/or the scrapbook. I’ll put a link at the top of BLB for such things….

In order to keep things simple, I’m going to combine any fan reviews with media/newspaper reviews by city. This means a lot of pics and reviews may not show up until the evening after I get off work….

Part of the reasoning for this is the element of surprise for those readers who want to visit BLB and not be saturated with info and pics about the tour. Those that don’t care…you know where to go..scrapbook and reviews section. Read More

Chicago Sun Times

Show no pity for Jack and Diane. Nicholson and Keaton are No. 1 at the box office this weekend.

This means that Diane Keaton — a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination — will have a much easier time getting her dream project done. And it’s not the dramatic fare you might expect. “I would like to do a musical comedy,” Keaton tells this column. “I don’t think I’m right for ‘Mame,’ but I think that I could do something with Stephen Sondheim.” Read More
