WARNER HOME VIDEO

Though most people associate the Halloween season with horror movies, there are movies in every genre—from cartoons to comedies—that take their inspiration from the spookiest time of year, either in a pivotal scene or as an overall theme. Here are 20 of our favorites.

1. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962)

Hocus Pocus is one of those movies you HAVE to watch around Halloween time, and if you don’t, then what are you actually watching?

It’s a battle for the most horrifying hair between Bette Midler and Donald Trump!

The Divine Miss M, who never misses a chance to take a stance against POTUS online, lobbed a “Hocus Pocus” diss in his direction just in time for Halloween on Tuesday.

“I hated that Hocus Pocus wig at the time, but after staring at Trump’s hair for 18 months, it honestly looks not that bad,” she tweeted, comparing Trump’s infamous coiffure with witchy Winifred Sanderson’s terrifying tresses. Read More

They won’t make you flinch at every creak in your house or cry yourself to sleep. No horror films, no slashers, no thrillers. Just pure fun, spooky, Halloween glee.
