BetteBack July 11, 1977: Bette Gets Caps

San Antonio Light
July 11, 1977

You’ll hardly recognize Bette Midler next time you see her. In addition to new caps on her teeth the marvelous one is aglow with a new romance. An actor named Peter Riegert. Nothing like a new love to beautify a gal, etc, etc, etc.

BetteBack June 30, 1977: Live At Last ~ Bette Follows In Some Pretty Big Footsteps

Sentinel And Enterprise
June 30, 1977

BETTE MIDLER — Live At Last (Atlantic) – Midler occupies some pretty big footsteps left by other great, allaround performers like Fanny Brlce, Sophie Tucker and Ethel Merman. Exuberant and sometimes R-rated in her banter with audiences, the singer-comic was taped for this LP during a performance at the Cleveland Music Hall

BetteBack November 28, 1976: Bette’s Supposed First Film Role

Salina Journal
Sunday, November 28, 1976

Q: In one of your columns a while back, you mentioned that Bette Midler was going to make a movie. Do you have any more information on this, like what kind of movie it will be and what role Bette will play? — Deborah Higgins, Hollywood, Calif.

I can also tell you that her second and third films for Columbia (it was a 3-picture deal) will be straight dramatic roles, according to personal manager, Aaron Russo. Read More
