We don’t care about our children at all. We let them run around with no discipline. We let them park their carcasses in front of the television. We don’t teach them to read. Well that’s not what I want for my child.

We don’t care about our children at all. We let them run around with no discipline. We let them park their carcasses in front of the television. We don’t teach them to read. Well that’s not what I want for my child. I want her to have a real childhood, with real cookies in the oven, corny as that may sound I want her to love nature and breathe fresh air. I don’t want her to see hundreds of thousands of people die on her television set before she’s 20. AND she doesn’t wear tart clothes. I have such a resentment of mothers dressing up their children to look like little versions of themselves. It’s totally insane. Can’t they wait for a while before putting the spandex and the lycra on these kids. These aren’ children. They’re little grown-ups. Don’t these parents LIKE kids? (1991) – Bette Midler Read More

I’m pretty much what you see on stage. People know that I read, that I’m interested in the world, in the environment, in human emotion. All my work is pretty revelatory. I don’t hide a lot when I work on stage and I think that’s one of the reasons people are interested in me. And I don’t think I’ve changed. I really feel I’m the same person who got off that bus in New York in 1965. (1991) – Bette Midler

Magazine announces Best Dressed list but something’s missing

Magazine announces Best Dressed list but something’s missing
09/07/2017

People magazine has named its Top 10 Best Dressed Stars of 2017 and the list is filled with plenty of stylish faces.

Everyone from Nicole Kidman and Mandy Moore to Rihanna and Jada Pinkett Smith made the cut, but it seems there is one group missing from the list: the over-60s.

Despite plenty of super-stylish Baby Boomers rocking the red carpet this year, they’ve sadly been overlooked this time.

Sexy seniors such as Susan Sarandon, Helen Mirren, Bette Midler and Tom Hanks have all sported some truly fantastic looks this year and certainly deserve the same admiration and praise as their younger peers. Read More

The 2017 Reeling film festival—the second oldest LGBTQ film fest in the U.S.—unspools Sept. 21 at Music Box Theatre with Hello Again, a sex-fueled all-star screen adaptation of an under-the-radar John LaChiusa musical that follows the erotic escapades of characters with names like The Whore, The College Boy, and The Young Thing. Clearly, Reeling 35 starts off with a satisfying bang—ten actually, since the sensual musical tells the tales of as many love affairs, each set in a different decade. Read More
