The Loose Women never shy away from telling embarrassing stories, spilling their emotional guts or revealing their true feelings on the issues of the day.

But what wouldn’t they share with the nation?

Are there stories they wish hadn’t been broadcast? And what do they get up to backstage?

We put these questions and more to Andrea McLean , 46, Nadia Sawalha , 51, and Coleen Nolan , also 51, who have become friend on the show, which has been running for 17 gossip-filled years.

Is there anything you wish you hadn’t said on the show?

Coleen: My husband minds that I’ve shared more than I should! In the early days when we first met, he found it really difficult.

Nadia: I talked about my miscarriage. When I came off air, I was like, ”˜What have I done?’ In the end it was good, as quite a few people contacted me about theirs.

Andrea: Loads! Sometimes it’s the most innocent thing and my parents will be ringing me up going, ”˜Auntie’s upset!’

If the show wins an award you’ve promised to do the show from your beds…

Coleen: I’m not having a film crew round my house. I’d have to clean up! Luckily another panellist, Ayda Field, is Robbie Williams’ wife and she said we can go to theirs.

Nadia: They have a zip wire and a pool. We should go whether we win or not.

Who was your favourite guest on the show?

Andrea: Antonio Banderas was a joy. He’s a grounded, lovely man.

Coleen: All the A-listers ”“ Whoopi Goldberg, Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Michael Douglas.

Nadia: The funniest moment was when John Barrowman came on the show in high heels. He put his feet up on the desk by Sherrie Hewson then fell off his stool.

Tell us something about the other ladies…

Coleen: Nadia’s full of life but in the morning sometimes I go, ”˜Nadia, shut up! You’re too loud, it’s too early!’

Nadia: Whenever there’s a pretty boy on, Coleen twinkles. She lights up like a Christmas tree.

Coleen: I call Andrea Snow White, I used to imagine that she had bluebirds twittering in her dressing room.

Andrea: At work, I’m head prefect Snow White, but when I go out, I like to have fun. Everyone is shocked to see me having tequila slammers, or grabbing the karaoke mike.

Have you got any backstage rituals?

Coleen: When I go on just before Kaye Adams does, she holds my clothes and I can’t get on. Or she pushes me out so it looks like I’ve tripped. Every single time.

Andrea: One day, somebody gave me a double espresso and I went through the roof. Now Nadia and I have one before every show.

Nadia: I hate the taste of coffee but I hold my nose then gulp it back cold. Then I chew gum for the 10 minutes before we go on air. I put my gum on the scenery, then I pick it up on the way back out!
