Leigh Shannon, an impersonator of Bette Midler and other celebrities, has been filming a reality show for four months concentrating on how a young boy growing up in redneck, country rural, surroundings could have messed him up, but instead shows the positive that came from a bad situation.
According to Leigh, “I wanted to be a singer like my dad, I wanted to have the dance energy and comedic talents of my mom and dad. But I knew I was different and played the game, but was throw out at 17 for doing drag shows“
Leigh now has lived a great life with more to come.
“I have starred in the new feature movie “My Fair Lidy” coming out this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzcH9H7pdVk&feature=email and I am a stand up comedian every week on Church Street Station in Orlando with my show running four years, sold out every week.”
Leigh intends to show the positive side of life whether it be in his store he owns, “Ritzy Rags Wigs & More to his charity for cancer patients. This philosophy also shows through at his home.
Of interest to BetteHeads will be his affinity for Bette Midler who “has been such an influence on me in my life and my act. AND yes…my impersonation of Bette and other celebs will be in this show a lot.”
