November 22, 2005: Bette Performs at “Women’s Voices for Change”

Bette Performs at “Women’s Voices for Change” for the North American Menopause Society (NAMS), “the leading non-profit, scientific organization devoted to women’s health through midlife and beyond.” (According to Ms. Smith, “the evening benefited underprivileged women who cannot afford gynecological health care.”)

Liz Smith and Governor Ann Richards were the hosts for the event…the very first honoree and award recipient was Gail Sheehy, who many , especially of my age might remember, wrote the book, “Passages.” Read More
